Due to family difficulties which culminated in the premature death of my father ,i had to interrupt my studies and take over the operation of our family farm. When called to fulfil my military obligation, we had to close down the farm since neither my mother nor my younger sister were in a position to continue. These experiences made me aware of some of my innate qualities such as flexibility and the capacity of making the best out of alla situations as they arise-good or bad.At that time i started to take advantage of any opportunity to acquire new knowledge or to increase existing skills in order to achieve my goals. Since my grandfather first and my father later on worked at the AERMACCHI aeroplane factory, i was strongly attracted by aeronautics and related disciplines .Having developed, possibly throught my experience as a HAM-radio operator and meteorological observer , a strong relationship with computing and data processing i became aware that informatics was the domain in which i could best express myself and make useful contributions to others. Throught a German friend i learned more about northern Europe and became quite impressed with the culture and the lifestyle.In order to be able to visit Germany ,i even undertook a study of German.
